Tip #1 - Step Out Of Comfort Zone by Jason from Dublin
I'm a metal/hard rock musician. If I'm stuck for melody ideas for my lyrics I just listen to different genres and styles like pop, classical or jazz. It's great for giving your brain something new to digest and always helps me break my writers block.
Tip #2 - Hit A Coffee Shop by Sarah from Ma
When I'm stuck for lyrics I go to the coffee shop, sit there pretending to read the paper and do a bit of ear wigging. You'd be surprised at some off the conversations you over hear.
Tip #3 - Random Words by JT from New York
Get a piece of paper, write down a load of words that you like. Tear off each word and put in a bowl. Take out the words and randomly make sentences out of them. You should get something you like out of it!
Tip #4 - Dictionary Time by Andy from Massachusetts
Flick through the dictionary. When you find an interesting word take it and run with it.
Tip #5 - Don't Rush by Scott from Cardiff
Don't panic when writing lyrics. If you can't come up with a lyric just write down anything for the time being. You can always come back later. It doesn't have to be all done in one go.
