What's Inside Total Studio 3
SampleTank 2.5 XL
SampleTank 2.5 XL is a multi-sample powered, 1700 sound featuring, monster of a sound engine which has enough steam to carry any song-writing project. From Rock to Pop and from Soul to Hip-Hop, SampleTank 2.5 XL has the goods to let you craft a masterpiece.
The SonikSynth 2 is a synth library featuring more than 5000 sounds. This includes 8GB of instrument samples, both analog and digital. You get an infinite number of synth possibilities like FM, Analog, Digital, Granular, Modeling etc. You can also audition for drums, percussion and ethnic sounds. Featuring a vast array of funky modern sounds as well as classic vintage synths, the SonikSynth2 workstation will cover all your synth needs.
The Miroslav Philharmonik is an Orchestra Workstation which has numerous multi-sampled vintage sounds. These have been auditioned from Miroslav Vitous Orchestral and Choir sample bundles. This also features a virtual instrument with a bias for classical vintage sounds and compositions.
SampleTron is an amazing bundle of “Trons”, ranging from Mellotrons, to Orchestrons and from Chamberlins to Optigans. The samples included in SampleTron are the same ones used by famous artists like Smashing Pumpkins and Tom Waits amongst others.
SampleMoog is a bundle that will send any fan of modern synthesis into rapture. It features over 2000 Moog basses, lead pieces, effects and lots more. The range stretches from the early Modular Moog systems to the rarely found but much-in-demand Moog Minis. You also get delights like the Taurus Bass Peds, apart from other popular Polymoogs and Memorymoogs. The SampleTank engine can read your SampleMoog sounds. With a 16-part multi-tone multi-timber multi-sample synth, most musicians will never grow tired at the infinite possibilities of this synth manipulating beast.
The AmpliTube 3 has been given a major overhaul. It now has 30 new guitar models. It also has five brand-new funky creative effects. These are Rezo, StepFilter, Swell, TapDelay and StepSlicer. We aren’t even talking about the 160 plus amp models that you get to craft your composition with. The interface has been re-worked with smoother and more intuitive drag-and-drop functionality. The over-all organization too has been given a face-lift. You get both mono and stereo audio paths. There is also a funky new speaker with a rotary effect to play around with.
T-RackS 3 Deluxe
Composing a track is only half the work. Mixing and Mastering makes or breaks tracks. Fortunately IK Total Studio 3 packs in the T-RackS 3 Deluxe, which is a mixing and mastering module. The T-RackS 3 Deluxe is the latest in an illustrious line of predecessors, and hence is stable and efficient. It has 10 mixing and mastering tools, of which five are new to this release. You can add classical vintage texture, a grainy analog timber or a sterile modern electronic zing using these effects.
IK Total Studio 3 Conclusion
To sum up, Total Studio 3 is a software bundle that will serve as the complete studio to most musicians involved in digital music production. It is easy to learn with, and is as comprehensive as any other DAW out there.
The bundle is a lot cheaper than buying each component individually, so much that the cost of just two of the components will exceed that of the bundle! No wonder then that this is a very popular tool with studio engineers. If you are on a budget and looking for a comprehensive studio solution, Total Studio 3 is the answer.
