Harmony Definition
It's time to take a look at the definition of harmony.
If you were to look at a dictionaries definition of harmony you would probably find something like this:

Closer Look At Musical Harmony
Let's expand a little on the last definition used above. Harmony in music. Harmony in music is very important to a professional songwriter. You can think of harmony as the chordal accompaniment that you use. So a finished songs main components would be lyric, melody and harmony.
Harmony is what brings a song to life. Think of a plain melody and lyric as a black and white sketch, a song with harmonization as a full-color painting. So master writing great harmonies and you're one third of the way to writing great songs.
